Abstract

Rapid social changes in society have recently significantly increased the range of values and diverse roles of women. The study of socio-psychological relations of the mother is especially relevant to identify patterns of dependence of the psychological state of women and the manifestations of her maternal attitude (MA) on the social attitudes of a particular culture and the mother’s interaction with other people. The problem of interaction with others is quite acute for mothers raising a child with mental and physical disabilities. Studies of the specifics of MS in a family raising a child with special needs are focused mainly on correction. Maternal attitude for the organization of optimal conditions for the child’s development in the family. The existing dependence of both the mental state of the mother of a child with special needs and the mother’s attitude on socio-mental relations has been identified by many researchers, but not sufficiently studied. The purpose of the work is to investigate the change of the mother’s attitude to the child with special needs from the flow of her social relations in a special integral group. The article considers the features of psychological trauma of the mother of a child with special needs, highlights the components of the structure of trauma of the mother from violations and identifies their social conditionality as manifestations of violations of social attitudes and relationships of women at birth. As a socio-psychological technology to compensate for the deficit of the maternal sphere and increase the vitality of women, the influence of a whole group of mothers who raise children with special needs and have common goals, objectives, destiny is considered. The dynamics of indicators of maternal attitude style and components of vitality in mothers of children with special needs before and after participation in activities of a holistic group during the year is empirically studied. The author’s questionnaire for determining the style of maternal attitude and the method of diagnosing the viability of S. Muddi were used for diagnosis. The results of the survey showed a positive dynamics of these psychological properties in all women, the greatest changes were found in women who show an anxious and ambivalent style of maternal attitude to the child with special needs. Improving the level of indicators of involvement, control, risk acceptance and the level of adequacy of the style of maternal attitude confirmed the effectiveness of the impact of the whole group on the socialization of mothers and their children with special needs.
