SELF PRESENTATION IN THE SITUATION OF PROFESSIONAL PSYCHOLOGICAL SELECTION: INTERRELATION ANALYSES OF SOCIO-DEMOGRAPHIC FACTORS AND INDIVIDUAL PECULIARITIES

The article is dedicated to analyses of socio-demograpfic factors interrelations (age, sex, education level and job position) with intellectual abilities of job candidates, their personal peculiarities on conscious and unconscious levels, motivational sphere and type of attitude to the evaluating procedure in situation of professional psychological selection of the job applicants. To gain the aims of the research several psychodiagnostical methods were taken: Benton’s visual retention test (to evaluate cognitive functions and visual memory), the Szondi test and Lusher-test color-diagnostic (to evaluate unconscious motivation, mood, hidden disposition system and appetences), MMPI test (to evaluate the sphere of conscious, motivation and type of attitude to the evaluating procedure) and Pictogram test (to evaluate intellectual abilities, memory and peculiarities of the process of thinking). The methods of mathematical statistics were used to build path diagrams of regression models to inspect the interrelations between socio-demographic factors of job candidates and their individual peculiarities, which have been discovered by psychodiagnostical methods. It was discovered that the higher is level of education and job position – the lower is need of making positive image abut yourself, lie, glorification, while demonstrating false features of your personality. It is stated that women does not lie consciously about their image in better light, but sincerely believe in that. The age is influencing on the number of pictograms, that proves the memory aging fade. The procedure of psychological research of job candidates that combines methods of evaluating intellectual abilities, memory, peculiarities of the process of thinking, conscious and unconscious personal peculiarities and type of attitude to the evaluating procedure that determines the motive of self presentation as a polymodal characteristic – was proved and empirically verified.
