The purpose is to empirically and theoretically analyze trust as a construct of the emotional parameter of the emotional significance of marital relations and to determine the level of trust in the family life cycle. Methods. To study the level of trust, the author's questionnaire "Degree of Trust between Marital Partners" was used. The study took into account the length of marital life of the partners. The study involved 153 families. The study population was divided into different experimental groups according to the length of family life: 1) families with a short experience of living together for 0-6 years (young families) – 51 couples; 2) 51 families with a family life experience of 7–15 years (families with a moderately long experience of married life); 3) 51 families with a long experience of more than 16 years (mature families). Results. The study found that most young families have a low (autonomous) level of trust, which indicates mostly its absence, and according to the questionnaire analysis, jealousy is the most common reason for this. Families with an average length of married life have an average (symbiotic) level of trust between partners, which signals that at this stage couples are sufficiently confident in the reliability of their partner, ready for the so-called "filtered" frankness, which helps not to harm their partner and not to spoil the relationship. In most mature families, a high (dependent) level of trust prevails, which in our understanding is not always comfortable and is interpreted as "blind trust" and is equated with the type of trust when a person trusts another more than himself or herself, which can be unfavorable for his or her emotional state in case of betrayal or deception by a partner. Conclusions. Thus, based on the results of the study, we can state that the level of trust in the cycle of marital life is different, which is caused by both the length of years lived together and other factors that affect families at different periods of their married life.
