Abstract

The article analyzes the psychological features of stress in higher education students with different cognitive styles. It is determined that the problem of research of stress resistance for modern youth is relevant, especially during educational activities. The main theoretical approaches to the definition of stress resistance and cognitive styles in modern psychological science are considered. Emphasis is placed on the fact that scientists describe about two dozen different cognitive styles, but they are based on ten bipolar scales. The relevance of the study of the relationship between cognitive styles and the level of stress resistance is noted in the paper. An empirical study was conducted on the features of stress resistance of modern higher education students who are studying in the 1st year and have different cognitive styles. The specifics of stress resistance of higher education students who have different levels of stress resistance with the following cognitive styles: analytical – holistic, field dependence – field independence, flexible cognitive control – rigid cognitive control. There was a significant difference in levels of stress resistance between the group of respondents with rigid cognitive control and respondents with flexible cognitive control. level of stress resistance than individuals with polar indicators of these cognitive styles. Prospects for further research through in-depth theoretical and empirical analysis of the stability of existing cognitive styles and factors influencing the formation of stress resistance and cognitive styles depending on the field of activity and age of the individual.
