Abstract

Objective. The article provides an overview of modern psychological research on the study of the peculiarities of the psycho-emotional sphere of psychologists and the factors that influence it. Methods. The theoretical part of the work was based on a systematic analysis of scientific and theoretical research on the problem of psycho-emotional disorders and their impact on the quality of professional life of psychologists. On the basis of theoretical searches and generalisations, a programme of empirical testing of certain provisions was developed. The validity and reliability of the results were ensured by the scientific and methodological validity of the study, the use of methods adequate to the tasks and the representativeness of the sample. Results. The article attempts to integrate scientific provisions on psycho-emotional disorders of psychologists who have psychological practice and direct contact with the consequences of clients' traumatic experience. The subject of the study was defined by the psycho-emotional characteristics of psychologists working with the consequences of traumatic experience. The article focused on emotional burnout. This is an emotional disorder characterised by a feeling of excessive exhaustion, weakness, depression, and a significant deterioration in the quality of professional life. The risk of such emotional states significantly increases in times of crisis, when the number of people in need of psychological assistance increases significantly, and psychological assistance is provided on a voluntary basis and in an intensive form. The empirical research has shown that constant interaction with people who have lived through traumatic experiences makes psychologists themselves emotionally vulnerable and has negative consequences for their psycho-emotional sphere. This feature is quite relevant in today's conditions. That is why it is important for psychologists to identify symptoms of emotional burnout in a timely manner and to give priority to their own emotional stability. At the same time, overcoming emotional burnout in the work of psychologists requires collective efforts, both on the part of individuals and organisations and professional communities as a whole.
