Abstract

The article analyzes the interrelationship and impact of stress on the mental health of military personnel who today defend our independence. It has been established that mental health has always been a key aspect of the lives of military personnel. This is a group of individuals exposed to special stressful conditions and challenges. Military service, regardless of its nature and duration, has a serious impact on the mental health and well-being of individuals. It is difficult to assess the theoretical and practical relevance of the problem, since military personnel are a special category that is subject to significant mental and emotional stress. During the performance of the service, they face stressful situations, which include: threats to life and health; separation from the family; social isolation and other challenges rarely encountered in civilian life. These stressful experiences directly affect the mental health of military personnel and lead to various mental disorders such as fear, depression, anxiety, and PTSD. The peculiarity of the study is that we seek to reveal specific aspects of the impact of stress on military personnel and identify opportunities to support their mental health. Understanding this relationship has important practical implications for the military medical service and the psychological support of the military. the mental health of military personnel is the functioning of the psyche, which ensures harmonious interaction with the surrounding world. It can be said that it is normal when there is no painful mental disorders or their manifestations even in short periods of life. The study found a positive correlation between stress and depression among the military. Thus, a higher level of stress is associated with an increase in the severity of depressive symptoms. This relationship can be explained by psychological, physiological, social factors that contribute to the development of depression in persons experiencing chronic stress in the army. Stress correlates with various measures of aggression, including indirect aggression, irritability, irritability, suspiciousness, guilt, hostility, and aggressiveness. An increased level of stress can increase negative emotions, reduce impulse control and lead to aggressive behavior.
